Monster Fit Club: Week 15

It's that time again! Let's weigh-in!

This week I lost 0 lbs. I have a 14 lbs. total loss. I am 6 lbs. away from my 20 lb. goal.

My weight remains popular in syndication, you guys. However, I was able to move down a notch on my belt this week. So that was very excited!

At this point in our process, I want to see if you guys have anything you would like to talk about in these posts or something you would like us to discuss. If you have any ideas, please let me know!

I hope everyone had a great week!

So how did you do this week? Put your comments and suggestions in the comments and let's discuss!

New? Make sure to tell us your goals and motivations. I strongly recommend you use Myfitnesspal.com to keep track of your calorie needs and to connect with other Monsters. Check out usernames here. Good Luck!

  1. I added a notch to my belt! In the most literal sense!

  2. I am down a total of 2.5-3 lbs, and I've already lost half an inch off of my hips. Waist is being stubborn though. I really like myfitnesspal--being accountable for listing everything I eat makes me way more conscious of what I'm taking in.

  3. I also had my longest and fastest run since taking a break/drinking lots of beer after my marathon last fall.

  4. I'm not sure what my weight was last week due to me being very frustrated, but now I'm down 15.6 lbs total. Very excited about that, getting back in that rhytmn. I have to say that I thought using MyFitnessPal was going to be a hassle and it kind of is, but its great to see how much you are actually taking in, instead of constantly guestimating.

What I would like to talk about are some ideas from the book Four Hour Body. The author, Tim Ferriss, was on the Nerdist Podcast last week to talk about it and there were some interesting theories in the book, along with staples as eat lots of protein and drink lots of water. For instance, he is against dairy and fruit and recommends one day of binging a week. Does anyone have any experiences with the book and/or heard anything about it?

  5. I have not heard about this book, Anchor! Have you read it? Do you want to write a review of it?

  6. I haven't read it, I only heard about it and read a few reviews. Some people love it, other are outraged by his weird recommendations. There are a couple of threads on MFP about it, like this one: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/143401-the-4-hour-body-slow-carb-diet

  7. After gaining some weight last week ( I think it might have been, ahem, water retention) I lost the weight I gained plus an extra pound bringing my total to 7 lbs lost! I fit into a smaller pair of jeans last night and I kind of cried a little but not really.

On a serious note, I really want to thank mobfd for doing this fit club. Even though I might not know everyone here personally, I still feel I have to answer to you guys and it's keeping me on track. This is probably the 15th time I've tried to lose weight in the past 3 years, but it's the best I've done so far (ouch) and you guys are one of the reasons. Thanks Monsters!!

  8. My week was so awful that I don't even want to talk about it :(

  9. Did I really not comment on here or was it deleted? Uggggggghhhhh.
Well I slacked hard, still lost weight. Down a total of 16 lbs, 16 more to go. I've been slacking on tracking food, but I've developed a pretty consistent schedule of eating. (save for last week when I cried lots and ate chocolate).

I'd like to echo RandiLu: I've tried numerous times over the years & really hard to lose weight on my own. This is the least I've weighed in 3 years and it has been the easiest. Support & consistency is the shit, you guys! Thanks
